Having grown up in Broward County, the most diverse county in the state of Florida, I've been surrounded by people from all walks of life for as long as I can remember. Whether they were my friends, teachers, or leaders, each one of them all taught me the world of opportunities that arise when you open yourself to viewpoints other than your own.

This upbringing instilled my lifelong passion for language and culture. I am constantly striving to enrich my own Thai roots, while branching out and exploring so many others. As such, I've been driven to find ways to incorporate global learning and exchanges into my life, anywhere I can. I cherish and value these opportunities personally, and also know that they offer me invaluable professional skills for when I am a practicing dentist in the future, seeing patients from all countries and walks of life.

 

My dream is to graduate dental school and provide dental care to underserved and uninsured populations, especially within immigrant communities. After all, languages connect people, but a bright, healthy smile is the universal connection that gives us the confidence to speak and express ourselves in the first place.
